Over the last couple of weeks our 8th grade class participated in several events leading up to their graduation.
Events included a retreat at Durwood's Glen Retreat Center, a Baccalaureate Mass, donuts with their 2nd grade faith buddies, a 7th vs. 8th grade kickball game and class trip to Chicago.
All of these events serve the special purpose of ensuring they recognize their accomplishments and feel the love and support of our community as they move onto the next chapters of their lives.
Fr. Tom’s homily during the Baccalaureate Mass encouraged students to be themselves (as they are each made in Jesus' likeness) and avoid the peer pressures that they will certainly face that could take them off course.
“The easiest thing to be in the world is you.
The most difficult thing to be is what other people want you to be.
Don’t let them put you in that position”—Leo Buscaglia.
