Dr. Seuss' "The Butter Battle Book" Helps Students Understand Conflict Resolution

Our teachers are always incorporating messages about character and treating others with respect, love and empathy. During last week's Read Across America Week, third grader teacher, Ms. Mauthe, read "The Butter Battle Book" by Dr. Seuss. Afterwards, the class discussed conflict and how to apologize. They ended the lesson with a game called "I'm sorry" where students practiced what they had learned.

Feed My Sheep Collection Due Friday

Our Parish and School are joining in the efforts of Feed My Sheep Madison, a fundraising and food packaging event with Kids Against Hunger. Feed My Sheep Madison is an annual event organized by the Westside Catholic Youth Network and includes several area Parishes including St. Maria Goretti, Queen of Peace and St. Bernard.

A Conversation To Remember

Our students had the opportunity to interview adults in our community today. The topic was: "How have you used your talents to help others." Students and adults alike were highly engaged in the type of real conversation that strengthens the bonds of community.

4th Graders Study Weather

Our 4th grade students are studying wind and weather. Students chose a weather tool to research, build and conduct experiments with. Students made rain gauges, weather vanes and anemometers.

Mother nature might be confused, but it's winter in the 4K room!

Students Learn About Martin Luther King Jr.
